Emergencies can happen, which is why it is best to be aware and prepare? The Department of Health Services practices continual surveillance and preparation for potential man-made or natural public health emergencies. Examples of such health emergencies include:

  • Bioterrorism
  • Influenza
  • Hurricanes

While emergencies can occur on a county-wide scale, they can also occur at a local level and may involve small groups of individuals. Examples include:

  • Home Heating Assistance
  • Carbon Monoxide Exposure
  • Chemical Exposure
  • Public Inquiries
