Overview

This conference will prepare the system of care for children under the age of 18 and the criminal justice system for changes in legislation where individuals under the age of 18 will not be treated criminally but rather referred for intervention when possible. This conference will focus on sensible solutions, reforming laws, impacting young people in an age appropriate manner to turn their lives around while safeguarding communities. The keynote speaker will be Vincent N. Schiraldi. Mr. Schiraldi is the former Commissioner of the New York City Dept. of Probation and presently the Senior Research Scientist and Adjunct Professor co-chairing the Justice Lab housed at Columbia University. Expert panelists will be comprised of Suffolk County Providers of Children's Behavioral Health Services and Family Court Experts. The cost is $30.00 Advanced Registration, $60.00 pay at the door (if space allows). Pre-registration is required.
