The Suicide Prevention Coalition of Long Island will present the "11th Annual Symposium", with Dr. Christine Moutier, Chief Medical Officer for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention as the keynote speaker. She will be presenting, "Suicide Prevention and Social Media-What We Know and What We Don't". She will help us make sense of the current body of data regarding risk of suicide among our youth and young adults, the rise in the rate of teen and young adult death due to suicide, and specifically how we can use what is known about the impact of social media in our work to identify, address, and reduce risk. What are the conversations we should be having with youth and young adults and how do we frame those conversations. In addition Dr. Moutier will discuss cyberbullying and risk of suicide.
