General Questions

What activities can I make a reservation for at a Suffolk County park using the online system?

You can make a reservation for family camping, golf and dockage at a Suffolk County Park, using the online reservation system.

Can I make a reservation over the phone?

There is no longer an automated phone system.  Reservations cannot be made through the park.  However, the website is compatible with mobile devices so, you are able to access the reservation system easily through your smart phone, laptop, tablet and other mobile devices.

What do I need to make a reservation?

You will need either a Suffolk County Parks Green Key card (residents only) or a Suffolk County Parks Non-Resident Key card in order to make a reservation.

How do I obtain a Resident Green Key card?

You must purchase the Suffolk County Green Key card in person at one of our many locations throughout Suffolk County. A list of parks and locations are also on our website (Green Key Card page) or you may call us at (631) 854-4949 for information.

What do I need to purchase a Suffolk County Green Key card?

You must provide 2 proofs of Suffolk County residency and a photo id. Depending on your green key status, you may be required to show additional proof.  For a complete list, click here to go to the Green Key Card page.

What if I am not a resident of Suffolk County?

The Non-Resident Key card may be purchased in person at one of our locations or over the phone at our West Sayville Administration office by calling (631) 854-4949, Monday – Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  A list of parks and locations are also on our website (Green Key Card page).

How much does a key card cost?

How do I log in once I have my Key card?

You can retrieve your login information by clicking the Forgot Username and/or Forgot Password buttons. You will need an email address on file to do so.

Can I check availability without a key card?

Yes, you can check availability for golf, campgrounds and marinas without logging in; however, you will be unable to book a reservation unless you have a valid key card.

What if my key card expired?

If your key card expired, you will still be able to login; however you will be unable to make a reservation.  You must renew your key card, before you will be able to book a reservation.  Go up to How do I obtain a Resident Green Key card? or What if I am not a resident of Suffolk County?.

What if my key card is still valid, but I want to book reservation and my key card will be expired by that time?

As long as your green key card is valid at the time of booking, you will still be able to book a reservation if your key card expires before your reservation begins.  However, you will need to renew the key card (either prior to or at check-in).  You will not be able to check-in unless your key card is valid.  This applies to golf, camping and marinas.

Can I change my username and password?

Yes, you can change your username and password at any time online.  You would click on Home (at the top of the reservation system page).  Then on the right hand side, click Change Password.  From there you will be able to change your username, password and email address.

 

Camping Questions

How do I make camping reservations for Suffolk County Parks?

Log in using your username and password.  Then click to search for campsites, using your desired method (map view, listing view etc.).  Change your search criteria and click search.  Add the campsite to your cart and Proceed to Checkout, where you will be prompted to enter your credit card information.  Make sure you get a confirmation page.  If you didn’t you did not complete the process.  Click here for a more detailed procedure.

How far in advance can I make a camping reservation?

Currently, reservations may be booked up to 90 days in advance from the date of check-in (beginning at 7pm). If booking prior to 7pm, you will only be able to book up to 89 days in advance from the date of check-in. Reservations may not be booked within 7 days of check-in.

How many nights can I make a camping reservation for?

Camping is limited to 7 nights maximum at a time. Reservations must be for a minimum of 2 nights. Between May 15 and October 15, any reservation beginning on a Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Holiday, must be for a minimum of 4 nights.

After I check out, when can I camp again?

A camper/household staying one to three nights, may not return to the same park for two nights. A camper/household staying four to seven nights, may not return to the same park for seven nights.  However, you may camp at another campground during this time.

What are the check-in and check-out times at the campground?

All reservations can check-in beginning at 4pm, and must check-in on the date their reservation begins.  Walk-ups may begin as early as 8am.  All campers must check-out by noon.

What if I cannot check-in on the date my camping reservation begins?

Before close of business on your check-in date, you must call the park with an anticipated arrival date; otherwise your site will be no-showed.  If you do not check-in by your anticipated arrival date, your site will be no-showed.

How do I check-out?

You must remove all equipment from designated site.  Campers must stop at the office and check-out with the park attendant, returning all car passes in your possession.  If you do not check out with the office which may result in late check-out penalties as described below.

What if I do not check-out on time?

You will incur a $28.00 late check-out fee, your green key card will be suspended and all future reservations will be cancelled.

What if I leave early?

If you leave early, you must follow the above check-out procedure.  There is no penalty to leave early; however there is also no refund for leaving early.

Payment for the reservation is made in full at the time the reservation is placed.

Marina Questions

How do I make marina reservations for Suffolk County Parks?

Log in using your username and password.  Then click to search for campsites, using your desired method (map view, listing view etc.).  Change your search criteria and click search.  Add the campsite to your cart and Proceed to Checkout, where you will be prompted to enter your credit card information.  Make sure you get a confirmation page.  If you didn’t you did not complete the process.  Click here for a more detailed procedure.  Reservations may be made for transient slips at Shinnecock Marina ONLY.  Timber Point Marina transient slips are first-come, first-serve only.

How far in advance can I make a marina reservation?

Currently, reservations may be booked up to 90 days in advance from the date of check-in (beginning at 7pm). If booking prior to 7pm, you will only be able to book up to 89 days in advance from the date of check-in. Reservations may not be booked within 7 days of check-in.

How many nights can I make a marina reservation for?

Marina stays are limited to 14 nights maximum at a time. Reservations must be for a minimum of 2 nights.

After I check out, when can I dock again?

After your stay, you may not return to the same marina for three nights.  However, you may dock at another marina, during that time.

What are the check-in and check-out times at the marina?

All reservations can check-in at 11am or after. All boaters must check-out by 10am.

What if I cannot check-in on the date my marina reservation begins?

Golf Questions

How do I make golf reservation for Suffolk County Parks?

How far in advance can I make a golf reservation?

Reservations may not be made for the same day.  Residents: Currently, reservations may be booked up to 7 days in advance from the date of tee-time (beginning at 6pm). If booking prior to 6pm, you will only be able to book up to 6 days in advance from the date of tee-time. Non-Residents: Currently, reservations may be booked up to 5 days in advance from the date of tee-time (beginning at 6pm). If booking prior to 6pm, you will only be able to book up to 4 days in advance from the date of tee-time.  Reservations will be accepted up until 12:00am of the same day of play.

How many golfers can I make a reservation for?

You may reserve a tee-time for up to 4 golfers.

How many holes can I make a reservation for?

Currently reservations may only be made for 18 holes.  Nine-hole play is available for walk-ups only.

What time must I check-in?

The reserving key card holder and all members of the reserved party must check-in at least 1 hour prior to tee-time.  Otherwise you will be considered a no-show.

What if some members arrive but others have not?

As long as the reserving key card holder is present, all present members are able to check-in.  The reserving key holder is responsible for all no-show fees, applied for any party member.  This fee will be collected at check-in.
