Camping is often defined as temporarily living outdoors, but to the millions of people that love it, camping amounts to much more. It is a pastime enjoyed by all types of people from the classic tent camper, to those not quite willing to give up all the comforts of home.
In our Suffolk County campgrounds, campers enjoy destinations with world-class beauty - from scenic woodland vistas to Ocean front sites. Combine that with a variety of recreational opportunities available at our campgrounds, and you're set for a rewarding experience.
Suffolk County offers several types of camping: Tent, Pop-Up, Trailer and Motorhome, Outer Beach Camping, Group Club Camping and Youth Group Camping.
Blydenburgh , Cathedral Pines, Southaven, Indian Island, Sears Bellows and Cedar Point campgrounds offer trailer, tent, and club camping areas. Smith Point has our largest number of electric sites and full-hookup sites in Suffolk County. Our flagship parks Cupsogue, Montauk , Shinnecock East and Smith Point all have Outer Beach camping for self-contained camping vehicles.
Blydenburgh , Cathedral Pines and Indian Island, Sears Bellows and West Hills offer youth group camping.
The camping season generally runs from April through October. We do offer winter camping, when possible, for self-contained campers at Indian Island and Cathedral Pines. Check with each park for specific opening and closing dates. Reservations for camping can be made online with your valid Green Key card.
