Task Force to Prevent Family Violence

|
The Suffolk County Executive's Task Force on Family Violence was established in 1988 when the County's pro-arrest policy for domestic violence incidents was adopted. Since it's inception, the Task Force has guided the County's family violence policies and procedures.
The goals of the Task Force are to explore the problems surrounding the phenomenon of family violence, identify gaps in services in order to ensure a comprehensive, county-wide system of quality services that will help protect and ensure the safety of victims and their families, and to increase community awareness of resources available.
These pages are intended to give information about Suffolk County agencies, to provide educational information about family violence, to help victims, survivors, concerned friends, and professionals find resources, and to encourage people to get involved in taking a stand against all forms of family violence.
