www.jchs.harvard.edu/ The Joint Center for Housing Studies at Harvard University analyzes and reports on economic trends and a broad range of other issues in the housing industry.

www.nextgenerationhousing.com The Campaign for Next Generation Housing was started by people in business and labor who understand that many Long Islanders cannot afford to live on Long Island. People whose kids have moved away; people who see that businesses are struggling to find the workers they need; people who love Long Island and want to stay here and want their kids to stay here.

www.tcah.org The Campaign for Affordable Housing is a national, nonpolitical nonprofit organization dedicated to dispelling the negative stereotypes surrounding affordable housing. Their website contains suggestions for how individuals may get involved in promoting workforce housing and free of charge publications and power point presentations to educate the public on housing issues.

www.licarh.org Long Island has nearly the lowest ratio of rental apartments of any major metropolitan area. As the cost of housing has skyrocketed, employers are struggling to fill positions, and the critical lack of affordable rentals is affecting families, individuals and businesses. The Long Island Campaign for Affordable Rental Housing is dedicated to promoting rental housing for persons of all races and backgrounds through the development of new structures and the rehabilitation and revitalization of existing properties and communities.

The City Design Center at the University of Illinois at Chicago has compiled an excellent Internet catalog of affordable housing communities throughout the country to recognize and learn from the dedicated work of outstanding practitioners.

The Affordable Housing Design Advisors is a website completed under contract to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development that provides affordable housing tools, a gallery of exemplary projects and a design checklist.
