Welcome to the online Office of the Suffolk County Clerk. From the Hamptons in the east to the high-tech industries in the west, Suffolk County is the crown jewel of New York State.
As County Clerk I am committed to reinventing how local government serves its constituents. More than a year ago, my office became one of the first County Clerk's Offices in the nation to establish a presence on the World Wide Web. This site is an outgrowth of our original effort and will continue to grow.
The Suffolk County Clerk's Office continues to develop strategies and systems that promote real-time services and facilitate worldwide communication and access. Our office receives daily inquiries from people nationwide wanting more information and we are more than eager to comply. We are constantly working to strip away layers of bureaucracy, improve access to official records, and streamline operations while containing costs.

The Suffolk County Clerk also serves as the Clerk of Supreme and County Court

The Office of the County Clerk holds land records dating from the mid -1600's

The Judgment and Lien Department dockets Judgments, Mechanics Liens, Miscellaneous Liens and Satisfaction pieces. This Department also processes Federal Tax Liens and Releases of Federal Tax Liens.

The Micrographics Department functions as an adjunct to other Departments comprising the Suffolk County Clerk's Office

The Mortgage Tax Unit oversees the collection of mortgage tax as required by the State of New York
|

The earliest records are from 1853 and continue up to 1990 when the process of naturalization was turned over to the Federal government. The complete database has over 68,000 names.

Notary Public's operate under the auspices of the NYS Department of State, an Oath of Office card is sent to the Suffolk County Clerk from the NYS Secretary of State. This card is maintained in the Notary Division
