This bureau’s functions include the licensing of over 12,000 vendors operating in Suffolk County. Over 50% of the licenses issued or renewed each year by the bureau are home improvement licenses. Before hiring any contractor, consumers should get three written estimates and call our main number (631) 853-4600 for open complaints and proper licensing.
This bureau also works on identifying unlicensed contractors who are working in Suffolk County. Unlicensed contractors are subject to arrest and prosecution for working without a license.
