2009 Bathing Beach Monitoring Concluded
September 11th 2009

The Suffolk County Department of Health Services announces today that the Bathing Beach Monitoring Program for the 2009 season has concluded and will resume in May of 2010.

As always, the Department recommends swimming at lifeguard protected beaches only and to avoid bathing and other water contact for at least a 24-hour period after a heavy rainfall at beaches that are affected by stormwater runoff.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Department’s Office of Ecology at (631) 852-5760.

Thank you
