The Parks Department offers numerous recreational opportunities for park visitors on its outer beaches. Weather and beach conditions permitting, the Parks Department allows day and night fishing, camping and day trips for patrons with a properly permitted 4-wheel drive vehicle.

Effective September 1, 2010 until Further Notice:

Smith Point County Park: Outer Beach is closed. For updates on Outer Beach conditions, please call (631) 852-1315.

Cupsogue Beach County Park: open for Outer Beach camping (20 campers) and camping on parking lot (10 campers). Outer Beach road is open.

Theodore Roosevelt County Park: Outer Beach is closed. For availability please call (631)852-7879.

Shinnecock East: Ocean front is closed. Outer Beach camping is on bay side only.

Charles F. Altenkirck County Park, formerly known as Shinnecock West County Park: Outer Beach is closed to any vehicle access.

Cedar Point County Park: Outer Beach is open. Outer Beach camping is not permitted.
