Effective
Wednesday, September 02, 2009, the New York State Board of Elections
implemented a new regulation that eliminates duplication of filing with
multiple Boards of Elections. [9NYCRR6200.1(d)(2)]
If
your committee raises and/or spends MORE THAN $1000 you are required to file
your reports ELECTRONICALLY with the New York State Board of Elections.
You are NO LONGER REQUIRED to file the reports with
Suffolk
County
as long as they are filed with
New York
State
.
If
your committee DOES NOT EXCEED the $1000 threshold, you are still required to
file your In Lieu Of statement with Suffolk County Board of
Elections.
The
above regulation pertains ONLY to filing Financial Disclosure reports and DOES
NOT pertain to registering a committee.
ALL committees raising and/or spending money in support or opposition of a
local office, (i.e.
Suffolk
County
or Town offices) must Register their committee with
Suffolk County Board of Elections.
You
