The Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) and Suffolk County, pursuant to negotiations with County Executive Steve Levy and County Legislator Daniel Losquadro, today announced they have reached an agreement to move forward on the national Rails-to-Trails project, a program which encourages government at the national and state levels to create conditions to make trail building possible.
