State Supreme Court Justice Fernando Camacho today sentenced the former public safety commissioner of Islip Town to 840 hours of community service in lieu of a six month jail sentence for being found guilty of coercion charges after a trial last April, Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota said.
