HICAP (Health Insurance Information, Counseling and Assistance Program) Volunteer Counselor

Qualifications

Reliable and able to maintain confidentiality. Must be sensitive and caring.  Must be able to communicate well with others.

Responsibilities

Educate and assist Medicare beneficiaries and their families about their Medicare benefits and other health insurance matters.  Help Medicare beneficiaries resolve discrepancies.

Special Requirements

Desire to make a difference.

Note

A basic training program will give you the knowledge and skills to be a successful counselor.  Regular, in-service, training will keep you updated on the latest changes.  Easy to reach support from experts is always provided.

 

Mileage reimbursement is available.
