The administrative office of the commissioner has taken a proactive role in making positive changes in County to affect the health and well being of county residents. We are not only walking the walk but talking the talk, through various initiatives and innovative ideas developed by our talented and dedicated staff.
In addition to sponsoring our own programs, the department has partnered with many other groups and co-sponsored numerous programs and activities throughout 2007. The key to the success of all of our programs and activities is the development of collaborations and partnerships with other agencies as well as community organizations.
The Department of Health Services has partnerships with numerous heath organizations including, the American Heart Association, American Lung Association, Asthma Coalition of Long Island, Stony Brook University School of Medicine and Suffolk Community College Nursing School, to name a few. The Suffolk County Department of Health Services continually reaches out through a variety of avenues building strong relationships and gaining momentum to better serve its residents. Our goal is to improve the health and health related services to all residents of Suffolk County. We look forward to fostering these relationships and building even better ones in the New Year.
