The Cartography & GIS (Geographic Information System) Division provides in-house cartographic and GIS assistance to the Planning Department staff and other county agencies. It also provides assistance to towns, villages and other public agencies with jurisdictions within Suffolk County. GIS-based assistance includes land use maps, parks and open space coverages, farmland, as well as maps relating to specific projects such as aquaculture, land preservation, waterfront development, or natural resources.
The Cartographic & GIS Division is repository for aerial photographs and maps. Historic aerial photographs are available at the Planning Department for viewing purposes only.
Maps availabe for download can be found on this site. These include various topics pertaining to the Political Boundaries, Census Information, Infrastructure, Environment, Census, and other topics of general interest within Suffolk County.
