Activities & Amenities There are three basic goals for care at John J. Foley. We strive to keep the residents healthy, comfortable and active. The medical staff, under the direction of the medical director, is committed to providing our residents with the highest standard of care. Promoting good health becomes a collaborative effort that begins with the medical staff and extends to all disciplines. Our Dietary Department has a clinical staff of highly qualified dieticians and dietary technicians who strive to provide meals that are nutritionally sound, delicious and attractively presented. From daily meals to our annual outdoor barbecue, the staff monitors the special needs and preferences of every resident. One of the things first-time visitors to John J. Foley notice immediately is the overall cleanliness of the rooms and common areas. While we are scrupulous about maintaining the facility, our staff also makes a point of trying to accommodate each resident’s personal preferences. They remain sensitive to the fact that when they enter a resident’s room they are visitors in someone else’s home. Laundry and seamstress services are provided, and we even have an on-site beauty salon/barbershop to help residents maintain their appearance. The Therapeutic Recreation Department keeps our residents active and entertained 365 days a year with programs that include: Daily activities scheduled in our spacious common areas or at the resident’s bedside Community excursions to stores, restaurants and local attractions Special events like our barbecues, family & friends parties and cultural events Entertainment events such as birthday and holiday parties, and live-music evening socials Special visits from community youth groups, church groups and schools, as well as our award-winning Pet Therapy Program Religious services offered by a wide range of faiths and denominations
