Inspector, Commanding Officer 7th Precinct – Inspector Ferrara joined the Suffolk County Police Department in 1981. He served as a patrol officer in the 5th Precinct and Highway Patrol Bureau, and as a sergeant in the 6th Precinct. Upon promotion to lieutenant, he served in the Marine Bureau and as an investigator in the Internal Affairs Bureau. Upon his promotion to Captain, he became the Executive Officer of the Highway Patrol Bureau. His recent experience prior to assignment as the 7th Precinct Commanding Officer includes assignment as Executive Officer holding the rank of Deputy Inspector and Commanding Officer of the Internal Affairs Bureau holding the rank of Inspector. Inspector Ferrara is a graduate of the FBI National Academy. He has attended New York University, SUNY Stonybrook, and holds a degree in Professional Aeronautics from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.
