AUXILIARY POLICE
 

The Suffolk County Auxiliary Police is a volunteer Civil Defense force equipped and trained to assist the Suffolk County Police Department, serving as additional "eyes and ears", in an effort to improve police response to the needs of the residents of Suffolk County, NY. and to assist the police during times of natural or man made disaster. The Auxiliary Police program is made up of approximately 200 dedicated men and women who care enough to give something back to their community. Members undergo extensive training from the Suffolk County Police Department and are prepared to respond at a moment's notice in the event of an emergency.

Recruitment

We are currently actively recruiting members for the 2nd Pct.(Huntington) and 4th Pct. (Smithtown) areas.

The Auxiliary Police Office is located in the Suffolk County Probation Building which is off Yaphank Ave. 1/4 mile south of Suffolk County Police HQ in Yaphank, NY.

Phone (631) 852-4921 any Monday evening (except holidays) to receive application information. The office is open Monday Evenings from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM (Closed on holidays)
