COMMUNITY OUTREACH

The Community Outreach Bureau was established May 1, 2005 under the direction of Police Commissioner Richard Dormer.  The purpose of this bureau is to act as a liaison between the Police Department and the public we serve.  The Community Outreach Bureau consists of the Police Athletic League (PAL), Crime Stoppers, Recruitment, and the Public Information section.

SILVER ALERT REGISTRY

Suffolk County Police is pleased to announce a new initiative to help people who are suffering from dementia or Alzheimer’s Disease. The Silver Alert program offers an I.D. bracelet that is worn by the individual, containing a serial number inscription, designed to identify the person who goes missing so that he/she can be returned to the caregiver.

The I.D. bracelet is free of charge. To obtain, simply click on Silver Alert Registry form, complete the requested information, and email to the Special Needs Coordinator, or you can print out the form and mail it back to Community Outreach Bureau at the address provided at the bottom of the form. The information on the form will be entered into a Suffolk County Police Department database designed exclusively for Silver Alert, and the I.D. bracelet will be mailed to you within a short period of time.
