Impound Unit Auction
The next Impound Unit vehicle auction is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, September 25th, 2010. This will be an auction of vehicles seized under County Law.

Please check back at this site for notice confirming this auction. 

Please do not call the Impound Unit for auction information. Details will be posted here first as they become available.

You must register to bid in the auction. Registration is at the Impound Unit during preview hours and on the day of the auction. Proper ID is required to register. To register to bid as a business you must produce your State tax certificate.

ALL VEHICLES ARE SOLD AS IS. PLEASE REVIEW THE AUCTION TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR REQUIREMENTS AND PAYMENT INFORMATION.

ALL VEHICLES ARE SOLD ON A BILL OF SALE NAMING THE BUYER. BILL OF SALE WILL GET THE BUYER A TITLE IN NEW YORK STATE. The BILL OF SALE is NOT TRANSFERABLE.
IT IS NOT THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE SUFFOLK COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT TO LIST OR NOTIFY THE BUYER OF ANY EXISTING LIENS THAT MAY BE LISTED ON THE TITLE YOU RECEIVE FROM NYS DMV. ALL PREVIOUS OWNERS AND LIENHOLDERS HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED AND GIVEN THE OPPURTUNITY TO CLAIM THEIR VEHICLE WERE APPLICABLE.

BUYERS SHOULD BE AWARE THAT MOTOR VEHICLE DEPARTMENTS IN OTHER STATES MAY HAVE DIFFERENT RULES FOR TITLING A VEHICLE. IT IS THE BUYER’S RESPONSIBILITY TO DETERMINE IF THE AUCTION BILL OF SALE IS ACCEPTABLE IN ANOTHER STATE AS NO OTHER DOCUMENTATION WILL BE PROVIDED AT THE TIME OF SALE.
