COVID-19 Case Update - December 3, 2021

Suffolk County reported the following information related to COVID-19 on December 3, 2021. Last updated December 2, 2021

COVID-19 Vaccine Information

  • 1,124,398 people have received at least one vaccine dose, an increase of 1,560
  • 1,013,277 people have completed their vaccine series, an increase of 1,643
  • 75.9% of the total population of 1,481,093 has received at least one dose
  • 89.1% of the population ages 18+ has received at least one dose
  • 68.4% percent of the total population has completed the vaccine series
  • 82.2% of the population ages 18+ has completed the vaccine series.
  • 79.9% of the population ages 12+ has completed the vaccine series.

  • Walk-in vaccination clinics are offering COVID vaccines and booster doses to Suffolk County residents who are age 5 and older. Appointments are recommend. Medical practitioners and EMS are on-site at all times to answer questions and tend to concerns. Click here for locations and times and parental consent forms. Answers to your vaccine questions can be found on this page, as well.
  • If you are confined to your home and wish to receive your COVID-19 vaccination, call 311. We will take your name and you will be called to schedule your free vaccination at home.

  • 5,930,929 total tests have been administered since March 2020
  • 1,102 new cases were reported
  • 74.4 cases per 100k; 51.1on a 7-day average
  • 258,510 total cases have been reported since March 2020
  • 6.2% tested positive in Suffolk County; 6.3% positive on a 7-day average
  • 5.9% tested positive on Long Island; 5.8% positive on a 7-day average

  • On December 2, 2021: 98,699  individuals not previously tested for COVID-19 tested positive for antibodies; 426,653 total were tested for antibodies.

Fatalities, Suffolk County

  • 1 fatality
  • 3,695 total fatalities since March 2020

Hospitalization, Suffolk County, data from December 2, 2021

  • 178 individuals were hospitalized, an increase of 3 in 24 hours
  • 28 were new admissions
  • 33 patients were in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), a decrease of 4 in 24 hours
  • 18 patients were in the ICU and intubated
  • 25 were discharged since the last report
  • 17,485 have been discharged since March 22, 2020
