Announcing Suffolk County's 2024 Gospel Health Fest in Celebration of Minority Health Month

In celebration of Minority Health Month, Suffolk County will host the 2024 Gospel Health Fest on April 20, 2024, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Van Nostrand Theatre on the Suffolk County Community College Grant Campus, located at 1001 Crooked Hill Road, Brentwood, NY.

The event will highlight the county’s finest Gospel choirs and dance ministries

Hosted by the county’s Office of Minority Health and Suffolk County Community College, the fest will feature health education and screenings. Health experts will be available to answer questions and emphasize the importance of prevention and early detection of illnesses.

The Office of Minority Health focuses on eliminating the six major health disparities identified by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention: Cancer, Diabetes, Immunizations, Infant Mortality, Heart Disease/Stroke, and HIV/AIDS.

“We encourage all residents who love music and who want to improve their lives and their health to join us in what promises to be an inspirational and spiritually uplifting event,” said Suffolk County’s Health Commissioner Dr. Pigott.

Dr. Pigott began his tenure with the Suffolk County Health Department as the Director of Minority Health and formed strong bonds with community organizations when he launched the first Gospel Health Fest in 2010. This year's fest will feature and performances by New Love Caravan, United in Christ Church, Serious Voice, Corona Male Quartet and Eugenia Woods Dance.

The 2024 Gospel Health Fest is co-sponsored by Catholic Health Good Samaritan University Hospital, Sun River Health, The Witness Project of Long Island, and the Town of Babylon and the Suffolk Community College & College Wide Office of Multicultural Affairs.
