Ocean Beaches Closed to Bathing

The Suffolk County Department of Health Services today announced that all Atlantic Ocean beaches in Suffolk County shall remain closed until Saturday morning, August 23, 2025, due to hazardous conditions expected as a result of Hurricane Erin.

The National Weather Service for New York, NY indicates high rip current risk and a gale warning for the ocean beaches of NYC and Long Island.

For the latest information on affected beaches, call the Bathing Beach HOTLINE at 631-852-5822 or contact the Department's Office of Ecology at 631-852-5760 during normal business hours.
