COVID-19 CASE UPDATE - December 13, 2020, 5:30 p.m.

Suffolk County reported the following information related to COVID-19 on December 13, 2020. Last updated December 12, 2020

Data is from December 12

COVID-19 Testing

  • 17,213 COVID-19 tests were administered
  • 1,662,638 total tests have been administered since March
  • 1,086 new cases were reported
  • 74,367 total cases have been reported since March
  • 4.5% of those tested since March have been confirmed positive for COVID-19
  • 5.8% tested positive on Long Island yesterday; 5.6% positive on a 7-day average
  • 6.3% tested positive in Suffolk County yesterday; 6.2% positive on a 7-day average

Antibody Testing

  • 31,688 individuals not previously tested for COVID-19 tested positive for antibodies
  • 302,930 in total have been tested for antibodies

Fatalities

  • 5 fatalities
  • 2,113 total fatalities

COVID-19 Hospitalizations data from December 12, 2020

  • 452 individuals were hospitalized, an increase of 17 in 24 hours
  • 49 were new admissions
  • 76 patients were in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), a decrease of 5 in 24 hours
  • 30 patients were in the ICU and intubated
  • 38 were discharged since the last report
  • 6,857 have been discharged since March 22

Hospital Capacity

  • 3,177 hospital beds, 815 available, 26 percent
  • 416 ICU beds, 128 available, 31 percent
