COVID-19 CASE UPDATE - April 15, 2020, 4:30 p.m.

Suffolk County reported the following information related to COVID-19 on April 15, 2021. Last updated April 14, 2021.

COVID-19 Vaccine Information - As of April 15, 2021 

  •        572,054 people have received at least one vaccine dose, an increase of 6,813
  •        38.6% of the total population of 1,481,093 has received at least one dose
  •        364,125 people have completed their vaccine series, an increase of 7,919
  •        25% percent of the total population of 1,481,093 has completed their vaccine series
  •        Demographics can be found on the NYSDOH vaccine tracker
  •        1,068,455 was the weekly allocation of COVID-19 vaccine first doses fully delivered to New York providers during the week 4/5-4/11

COVID-19 Viral Testing- On April 14, 2021:

  • 19,341 COVID-19 tests were administered
  • 3,616,420 total tests have been administered since March 2020
  • 627  new cases were reported
  • 192,006 total cases have been reported since March 2020
  • 5.3% of those tested since March have been confirmed positive for COVID-19
  • 3.2% tested positive in Suffolk County yesterday; 3.6% positive on a 7-day average
  • 3.0% tested positive on Long Island yesterday; 3.5% positive on a 7-day average

Antibody Testing Suffolk County

  • 47,886 individuals not previously tested for COVID-19 have tested positive for antibodies
  • 363,419 total were tested for antibodies

Fatalities, Suffolk County

  • 4 fatalities
  • 3,307 total fatalities

Hospitalization, Suffolk County, data from April 14, 2021

  • 305 individuals were hospitalized, an increase of 5 in 24 hours
  • 40  were new admissions
  • 80 patients were in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), a decrease of 1 in 24 hours
  • 50 patients were in the ICU and intubated
  • 26 were discharged since the last report
  • 13,678 have been discharged since March 22,2020

Hospital Capacity, Suffolk County

  • 3,139 hospital beds, 739 available, 24%
  • 437 ICU beds, 100 available, 23%
