COVID-19 CASE UPDATE - April 26, 2020, 6:00 p.m.

Suffolk County reported the following information related to COVID-19 on April 26, 2021. Last updated April 25, 2021

COVID-19 Vaccine Information - As of April 26, 2021  

  • 650,245 people have received at least one vaccine dose, an increase of 4,507
  • 43.9% of the total population of 1,481,093 has received at least one dose
  • 453,598 people have completed their vaccine series, an increase of 7,257
  • 30.6% percent of the total population of 1,481,093 have completed their vaccine series
  • Demographics can be found on the NYSDOH vaccine tracker
  • 738,340 was the weekly allocation of COVID-19 vaccine first doses fully delivered to New York providers during the week 4/19-4/25

COVID-19 Viral Testing- On April 25, 2021

  • 9,254  COVID-19 tests were administered
  • 3,773,233 total tests have been administered since March 2020
  • 237  new cases were reported
  • 196,101  total cases have been reported since March 2020
  • 5.2% of those tested since March 2021 have been confirmed positive for COVID-19
  • 2.6% tested positive in Suffolk County yesterday; 2.3% positive on a 7-day average
  • 2.5% tested positive on Long Island yesterday; 2.3% positive on a 7-day average

Antibody Testing Suffolk County

  • 50,082 individuals not previously tested for COVID-19 have tested positive for antibodies
  • 367,220 total were tested for antibodies

Fatalities, Suffolk County

  • 3 fatalities
  • 3,338 total fatalities

Hospitalization, Suffolk County, data is from April 25, 2021

  • 240 individuals were hospitalized, a decrease of 4  in 24 hours
  • 19  were new admissions
  • 56 patients were in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), no change in 24 hours
  • 38 patients were in the ICU and intubated
  • 18 were discharged since the last report
  • 14,015 have been discharged since March 22,2020

Hospital Capacity, Suffolk County

  • 3,131 hospital beds, 859 available, 27%
  • 435 ICU beds, 133 available, 31%
