COVID-19 CASE UPDATE - December 2, 2021

Suffolk County reported the following information related to COVID-19 on December 2, 2021. Last updated November 30, 2021

COVID-19 Vaccine Information

  • 1,122,838 people have received at least one vaccine dose, an increase of 1,706
  • 1,011,634 people have completed their vaccine series, an increase of 2,273
  • 75.8% of the total population of 1,481,093 has received at least one dose
  • 89.0% of the population ages 18+ has received at least one dose
  • 68.3% percent of the total population has completed the vaccine series
  • 79.8% of the population ages 12+ has completed the vaccine series.

  • Vaccination rates by zip code
  • Walk-in vaccination clinics are offering COVID vaccines and booster doses to Suffolk County residents who are age 5 and older. Appointments are recommend. Medical practitioners and EMS are on-site at all times to answer questions and tend to concerns. Click here for locations and times and parental consent forms.   • 17,332  COVID-19 tests were administered
  • 5,913,179 total tests have been administered since March 2020
  • 1,079 new cases were reported
  • 72.9 cases per 100k; 44.5 on a 7-day average
  • 257,408 total cases have been reported since March 2020
  • 6.2% tested positive in Suffolk County; 6.0% positive on a 7-day average
  • 6.1% tested positive on Long Island; 5.5% positive on a 7-day average

  • COVID Antibodies: On November 30, 2021: 98,274 individuals not previously tested for COVID-19 tested positive for antibodies; 426,218 total were tested for antibodies.
  • On December 1, 2021: 98,401 individuals not previously tested for COVID-19 tested positive for antibodies; 426,441 total were tested for antibodies.

Fatalities, Suffolk County

  • 4 fatalities on 11-30-21
    2 fatalities on 12-1-21
  • 3,694 total fatalities since March 2020

Hospitalization, Suffolk County, data from November 30, 2021

  • 157 individuals were hospitalized, an increase of 4 in 24 hours
  • 27  were new admissions
  • 31  patients were in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU),  an increase of 4  in 24 hours
  • 18 patients were in the ICU and intubated
  • 20 were discharged since the last report
  • 17,444 have been discharged since March 22, 2020

Hospital Capacity, Suffolk County

  • 3,101 hospital beds, 571 available, 18%
  • 395 ICU beds, 135  available, 34%

Hospitalization, Suffolk County, data from December 1, 2021

  • 175 individuals were hospitalized, an increase of 18 in 24 hours
  • 30 were new admissions
  • 37 patients were in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), an increase of 6 in 24 hours
  • 19 patients were in the ICU and intubated
  • 16 were discharged since the last report
  • 17,460 have been discharged since March 22, 2020

Hospital Capacity, Suffolk County

  • 3,101 hospital beds, 564 available, 18%
  • 402 ICU beds, 96  available, 24%
