Covid-19 Case Update February 9, 2021 at 4:45pm

Suffolk County reported the following information related to COVID-19 on February 9, 2021. Last updated February 8, 2020.


COVID-19 Vaccine Information  As of February 8 at 6 p.m., on Long Island

·        345,505  COVID-19 vaccine doses have been received

·        281,829 doses have been administered, 82%


COVID-19 Viral Testing: On February 8:

  •         13,483  COVID-19 tests were administered
  •         2,631,081 total tests have been administered since March
  •         712  new cases were reported
  •         150,426  total cases have been reported since March
  •         5.7% of those tested since March have been confirmed positive for COVID-19
  •         5.3% tested positive in Suffolk County yesterday; 5.4% positive on a 7-day average
  •         5.5% tested positive on Long Island yesterday; 5.4% positive on a 7-day average

Antibody Testing, Suffolk County

  • 37,073 individuals not previously tested for COVID-19 have tested positive for antibodies
  • 331,566 total were tested for antibodies

Fatalities, Suffolk County

  • 16 fatalities
  • 2,901 total fatalities

Hospitalization, Suffolk County, data from February 8, 2021

  • 660 individuals were hospitalized, an increase of 8 in 24 hours
  • 45 were new admissions
  • 132  patients were in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), a decrease of 5 in 24 hours
  • 102 patients were in the ICU and intubated
  • 29  were discharged since the last report
  • 10,849 discharged since March 22

Hospital Capacity, Suffolk County

  • 3,241 hospital beds, 711 available, 22%
  • 441 ICU beds, 88 available, 20%
