COVID-19 CASE UPDATE - March 19, 2021, 5:00 p.m.

Suffolk County reported the following information related to COVID-19 on March 19, 2021. Last updated March 18, 2021.

COVID-19 Vaccine Information -  As of March 19, 2021 

  • 350,353 people have received at least one vaccine dose, an increase of 6,694
  • 23.7% of the total population of 1,481,093 has received at least one dose
  • 187,023 people have completed their vaccine series, an increase of 3,080
  • Demographics can be found on the NYSDOH vaccine tracker
  • 455,365 was the weekly allocation of COVID-19 vaccine first doses fully delivered to New York providers during the week 3/8-3/14.

COVID-19 Viral Testing- On March 18, 2021:

  • 18,166 COVID-19 tests were administered
  • 3,193,532 total tests have been administered since March 2020
  • 711 new cases were reported
  • 174,032 total cases have been reported since March 2020
  • 5.4% of those tested since March have been confirmed positive for COVID-19
  • 3.9% tested positive in Suffolk County yesterday; 4.3% positive on a 7-day average
  • 4.0% tested positive on Long Island yesterday; 4.5% positive on a 7-day average

Antibody Testing Suffolk County

  • 43,336 individuals not previously tested for COVID-19 have tested positive for antibodies
  • 352 862 total were tested for antibodies

Fatalities, Suffolk County

  • 9 fatalities
  • 3,194 total fatalities

Hospitalization, Suffolk County, data from March 18, 2021

  • 381 individuals were hospitalized, a decrease of 21 in 24 hours
  • 38  were new admissions
  • 73 patients were in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), a decrease of 6 in 24 hours
  • 45 patients were in the ICU and intubated
  • 45 were discharged since the last report
  • 12,565 have been discharged since March 22,2020

Hospital Capacity, Suffolk County

  • 3,157 hospital beds, 672 available, 21%
  • 433 ICU beds, 97 available, 22%
