COVID-19 CASE UPDATE - March 27, 2021

Suffolk County reported the following information related to COVID-19 on March 27, 2021. Last updated March 26, 2021.

COVID-19 Vaccine Information - As of March 27, 2021 

  •        413,517  people have received at least one vaccine dose, an increase of 6,969
  •        27.9% of the total population of 1,481,093 has received at least one dose
  •        227,056  people have completed their vaccine series, an increase of 5,818
  •        Demographics can be found on the NYSDOH vaccine tracker
  •        699,790 was the weekly allocation of COVID-19 vaccine first doses fully delivered to New York providers during the week 3/15-3/21.

COVID-19 Viral Testing- On March 26, 2021:

  • 16,602 COVID-19 tests were administered
  • 3,320,129 total tests have been administered since March 2020
  • 711 new cases were reported
  • 179,524 total cases have been reported since March 2020
  • 5.4% of those tested since March have been confirmed positive for COVID-19
  • 4.3% tested positive in Suffolk County yesterday; 4.4% positive on a 7-day average
  • 4.1% tested positive on Long Island yesterday; 4.3% positive on a 7-day average

Antibody Testing Suffolk County

  • 44,668 individuals not previously tested for COVID-19 have tested positive for antibodies
  • 356,224 total were tested for antibodies

Fatalities, Suffolk County

  • 8  fatalities
  • 3,229 total fatalities

Hospitalization, Suffolk County, data from March 26, 2021

  • 385 individuals were hospitalized, an increase of 9 in 24 hours
  • 56 were new admissions
  • 82 patients were in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), an increase of 3 in 24 hours
  • 43 patients were in the ICU and intubated
  • 41 were discharged since the last report
  • 12,909 have been discharged since March 22,2020

H ospital Capacity, Suffolk County

  • 3,164 hospital beds, 695 available, 22%
  • 435 ICU beds, 107 available, 25%
