Covid-19 Case Update May 11, 2021 3:45pm

Suffolk County reported the following information related to COVID-19 on May 11, 2021. Last updated May 10, 2021

COVID-19 Vaccine Information - As of May 11, 2021  

  •         741,676  people have received at least one vaccine dose, an increase of 2,711
  •         50.1% of the total population of 1,481,093 has received at least one dose
  •         62.5% of the population ages 18+ has received at least one dose  
  •         589,837 people have completed their vaccine series, an increase of 6,060
  •         39.8% percent of the total population of 1,481,093 have completed their vaccine series
  •         Demographics can be found on the NYSDOH vaccine tracker
  •         556,950 was the weekly allocation of COVID-19 vaccine first doses fully delivered to New York providers during the week 5/3--5/9
  •         Walk-in vaccination clinics are offering vaccine to residents who are age 16+. No appointment is needed. Medical practitioners and EMS are on-site at all times to answer questions and tend to concerns. Click here for locations and times.   •         If you are confined to your home and wish to receive your COVID-19 vaccination, call 311. We will take your name and you will be called to schedule your free vaccination at home.

COVID-19 Viral Testing- On May 10, 2021

  • 7,703 COVID-19 tests were administered
  • 3,946,702 total tests have been administered since March 2020
  • 104 new cases were reported
  • 198,906 total cases have been reported since March 2020
  • 5.0% of those tested since March 2021 have been confirmed positive for COVID-19
  • 1.4% tested positive in Suffolk County yesterday; 1.3% positive on a 7-day average
  • 1.2% tested positive on Long Island yesterday; 1.2% positive on a 7-day average

Antibody Testing Suffolk County

  • 52,916 individuals not previously tested for COVID-19 have tested positive for antibodies
  • 371,530 total were tested for antibodies

Fatalities, Suffolk County

  •          2 fatalities
  • 3,374 total fatalities

Hospitalization, Suffolk County, data is from May 10, 2021

  • 132 individuals were hospitalized, a decrease of 4 in 24 hours
  • 13 were new admissions
  • 36 patients were in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), a decrease of 2 in 24 hours
  • 19 patients were in the ICU and intubated
  • 11 were discharged since the last report
  • 14,328 have been discharged since March 22,2020

 Hospital Capacity, Suffolk County

  • 3,134 hospital beds, 922 available, 29%
  • 433 ICU beds, 148 available, 34%
