Covid-19 Case Update October 16, 2021 7pm

Suffolk County reported the following information related to COVID-19 on October 16, 2021. Last updated October 15, 2021
COVID-19 Vaccine Information
•    1,074,400 people have received at least one vaccine dose, an increase of 1,019
•    968,183 people have completed their vaccine series, an increase of 1,623
•    72.5% of the total population of 1,481,093 has received at least one dose
•    86.3% of the population ages 18+ has received at least one dose
•    65.3% percent of the total population has completed the vaccine series
•    78.6% of the population ages 18+ has completed the vaccine series, as of October 16, 2021
•    76.3% of the population ages 12+ has completed the vaccine series, as of October 16, 2021

•    Vaccination rates by zip code
•    Walk-in vaccination clinics are offering vaccine to residents who are age 12 and older. No appointment is needed. Medical practitioners and EMS are on-site at all times to answer questions and tend to concerns. Click here for locations and times and parental consent forms. Answers to your vaccine questions can be found on this page, as well.
•    If you are confined to your home and wish to receive your COVID-19 vaccination, call 311. We will take your name and you will be called to schedule your free vaccination at home.
COVID-19 Case Tracker- On October 15, 2021
•    13,549 COVID-19 tests were administered
•    5,384,320  total tests have been administered since March 2020
•    453  new cases were reported
•    237,959 total cases have been reported since March 2020
•    4.4% of those tested since March 2021 have been confirmed positive for COVID-19
•    3.3% tested positive in Suffolk County; 3.3% positive on a 7-day average
•    2.7% tested positive on Long Island; 2.7% positive on a 7-day average
•    COVID Antibodies: 87,383 individuals not previously tested for COVID-19 have tested positive for antibodies; 414,631 total were tested for antibodies
Fatalities, Suffolk County
•    1  fatality
•    3,585  total fatalities since March 2020
Hospitalization, Suffolk County, data is from October 15, 2021
•    171 individuals were hospitalized, a decrease of 2  in 24 hours
•    12 were new admissions
•    35 patients were in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) a decrease of  1  in 24 hours
•    23 patients were in the ICU and intubated
•    18 were discharged since the last report
•    16,687 have been discharged since March 22, 2020
Hospital Capacity, Suffolk County
•    3,136 hospital beds, 610 available, 19%
•    404 ICU beds, 104  available, 26%
