2024 CANOE/KAYAK/PADDLEBOARD MOBILE CONCESSION BID

INVITATION: This is an invitation to submit a sealed bid for a permit to operate a mobile Canoe/Kayak/Paddleboard concession for the 2024 season subject to the terms, conditions, and special instructions of this bid. Bids must be received, and date stamped no later than 10:00 a.m. prior to the public bid opening at 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday, March 19, 2024. All bids should be submitted on the form provided following this invitation.

The Suffolk County Department of Parks is accepting Proposals/Bids until Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. for permits to operate a Canoe/Kayak/Paddleboard Concession for the 2024 season at the following Parks:

Cedar Beach, Southold

Southaven County Park, Yaphank

Green’s Creek County Park, West Sayville

Indian Island County Park, Riverhead

Timber Point County Park, Great River

Smith Point Marina, Shirley

Lake Ronkonkoma County Park, Lake Ronkonkoma

Smith Point County Park, Shirley (Fishing Pier) 

The Department recognizes there may be an alternate Suffolk County Park not listed above for which you would like to provide service. In that event, you may suggest an alternate Suffolk County Park and submit a bid for it. Add the Park’s name and a specific description as to the proposed launching spot in the blank space and enter the proposed permit bid. The Department will consider your proposed site and advise you whether or not the County approves of adding a canoe/kayak/paddleboard mobile concession to the proposed park. Please be advised that only park properties that belong to Suffolk County are included in this permit—the responsibility is on each Proposer to verify the sites they propose to use are Suffolk County Parks property.


The requirements to obtain a Permit for a Canoe/ Kayak/ Paddleboard Concession are:

  • County specified insurance coverage as outlined in Permit Agreement
  • Permit fees to be paid by the selected Vendor upon execution of the Agreement
  • Completion of County Mandated Forms

Only one Permit will be issued for a site to the bidder who has the proper credentials to operate a Canoe/Kayak/Paddleboard Concession, meets all the requirements stated above, and provides the best financial return to the County.

No proposal/bids will be accepted after 10:00 a.m. on March 19, 2024. Sealed proposal bids may be submitted in person or by mail to:
