Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone today directed flags at all County government buildings to be flown at half-mast in honor of New York Police Department Detective Brian Simonsen. The County Executive released the following statement:
“Detective Brian Simonsen was a Suffolk County resident who chose to serve and protect the people who call New York City their home. My thoughts and prayers are with his family, loved ones, and the entire law enforcement community during this difficult time.”
