Covid-19 Case Update November 8, 2020 6pm

Suffolk County reported the following information related to COVID-19 on November 8, 2020. Last updated November 7, 2020 

  • 1,160,987 COVID-19 tests have been administered, an addition of 9,743 tests  
  • 4.4 percent of those tested since March have been confirmed positive for COVID-19
  • 2.6 percent of those tested on Long Island in the last reported 24-hour period tested positive for COVID-19
  • 2.7  percent of those tested in Suffolk County in the last reported 24-hour period tested positive for COVID-19

Tested Positive for COVID-19

  • 50,728 total cases
  • 259 new cases

Antibody Testing

  • 288,122 total were tested for antibodies
  • 30,285 individuals not previously tested for COVID-19 have tested positive for antibodies

Fatalities

  • 0 fatalities
  • 2022 total fatalities

Hospitalization data from November 6, 2020

  • 57 individuals were hospitalized, a decrease of 2 in 24 hours
  • 10 patients were in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), no change in 24 hours
  • 8 new admissions
  • 8 discharged
  • 6,103 discharged since March 22

Hospital Capacity

  • 2,996 hospital beds, 852 available, 28 percent
  • 385 ICU beds 105 available, 27 percent
