COVID-19 CASE UPDATE - January 12, 2021, 5:30 p.m.

Suffolk County reported the following information related to COVID-19 on January 12, 2021. Last updated January 11, 2020.

On January 11:

  • 17,303 COVID-19 tests were administered
  • 2,153,930 total tests have been administered since March
  • 1,667 new cases were reported
  •  117,156 total cases have been reported since March
  • 5.4% of those tested since March have been confirmed positive for COVID-19
  • 9.1% tested positive on Long Island yesterday; 9.1% positive on a 7-day average
  • 9.6% tested positive in Suffolk County yesterday; 9.8% positive on a 7-day average

Antibody Testing

  • 33,433  individuals not previously tested for COVID-19 have tested positive for antibodies
  • 314,988 total were tested for antibodies

Fatalities

  • 21 fatalities
  • 2,487 total fatalities

Hospitalization data from January 11, 2021

  • 839 individuals were hospitalized, an increase of 35 in 24 hours
  • 106 were new admissions
  • 124  patients were in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), an increasee of 1  in 24 hours
  • 68 patients were in the ICU and intubated
  • 57 were discharged since the last report
  • 8,738 discharged since March 22

Hospital Capacity

  • 3,232 hospital beds, 714 available, 22%
  • 436 ICU beds, 95 available, 22%
