Covid-19 Case Update March 22, 2021 4:30pm

 

Suffolk County reported the following information related to COVID-19 on March 22, 2021. Last updated March 21, 2021.

COVID-19 Vaccine Information - As of March 22, 2021 

  •        372,927  people have received at least one vaccine dose, an increase of 5,591
  •        25.2% of the total population of 1,481,093 has received at least one dose
  •        198,709 people have completed their vaccine series, an increase of 3,003
  •        Demographics can be found on the NYSDOH vaccine tracker
  •        699,790 was the weekly allocation of COVID-19 vaccine first doses fully delivered to New York providers during the week 3/15-3/21.

COVID-19 Viral Testing- On March 21, 2021:

  • 10,821  COVID-19 tests were administered
  • 3,238,599 total tests have been administered since March 2020
  • 612 new cases were reported
  • 176,140 total cases have been reported since March 2020
  • 5.4% of those tested since March have been confirmed positive for COVID-19
  • 5.7% tested positive in Suffolk County yesterday; 4.5% positive on a 7-day average
  • 5.2% tested positive on Long Island yesterday; 4.4% positive on a 7-day average

Antibody Testing Suffolk County

  • 43,774 individuals not previously tested for COVID-19 have tested positive for antibodies
  • 353,967 total were tested for antibodies

Fatalities, Suffolk County

  • 5 fatalities
  • 3,207 total fatalities

Hospitalization, Suffolk County, data from March 21, 2021

  • 393 individuals were hospitalized, an increase of 5 in 24 hours
  • 41  were new admissions
  • 73 patients were in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), a decrease of 3 in 24 hours
  • 42 patients were in the ICU and intubated
  • 34 were discharged since the last report
  • 12,682 have been discharged since March 22,2020

H ospital Capacity, Suffolk County

  • 3,152 hospital beds, 794 available, 25%
  • 433 ICU beds, 119 available, 27%
