Bellone Invites Residents to Suffolk County Job Fairs

(HAUPPAUGE, NY July 16, 2014)--Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone invites residents to participate in four upcoming job fairs at the county’s One-Stop Employment Center.

“We encourage people looking for work to meet with representatives of companies that are looking to hire the talent here in Suffolk County,” County Executive Bellone said. “The One-Stop Employment Center provides the perfect opportunity for job seekers and recruiters to connect with each other.”

On Tuesday, July  22, the National Recruiting Group will be hiring an administrative assistant, medical biller, medical receptionist, medical secretary, pick/packer, shipping and receiving, receptionist/office assistant, and warehouse workers. The job fair will run from 9-11 a.m.

Also on July 22, from 9 a.m. to noon, Labor Ready will be recruiting for dishwashers, banquet servers and housekeepers for jobs at a national hotel chain.

On Wednesday, July 23, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Target is recruiting to fill 20 positions at its Huntington store, including  cashiers, guest services, cart attendants and backroom work.

On July 30, the Suffolk Transportation Group will recruit to fill openings for para-transit and school bus drivers. The job fair is scheduled for noon to 3 p.m.

The Suffolk County One-Stop Employment Center is a cutting-edge endeavor which brings together both employers and job seekers, providing a comprehensive, one-stop approach to job search. Staffed with employment professionals from several private and public entities, the Employment Center functions as a full service human resources facility. The center supplies the job seeking customer with all the tools necessary for a self-directed or staff-assisted job search, and provides employers with facilities and workforce support. The One-Stop center is located at 725 Veterans Highway, Hauppauge.
