SUFFOLK COUNTY EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS REGISTRY

Gathering specialized information for Suffolk County Residents regarding their special needs during evacuation and sheltering.

This registry is designed to identify residents who may require special assistance during an evacuation, and the special resources they may require during sheltering. Information provided is used to determine which shelter best meets each Registrant’s needs.


PLEASE NOTE THIS PROGRAM WAS FORMALLY KNOWN AS THE "JOINT EMERGENCY EVACUATION PROGRAM (JEEP) & SPECIAL NEEDS REGISTRY" AND IN SOME CASES THIS NAME IS STILL USED.  

Prior to an anticipated emergency event, outreach will occur to each Registrant. The contact will include an option to let us know if the Registrant would like to evacuate.

The information is also used to identify the resources necessary to accommodate Special Needs Individuals and their caregivers.

The first line of defense against the effects of a disaster is personal preparedness. It is important for all residents to make their own Emergency Plans, and provide for their own care and safety in an emergency. The Emergency Preparedness Registry is designed to assist Suffolk County and First Responders to better serve you during an evacuation or disaster situation.

Who Should Register?

You should register if you foresee any difficulty in getting to safety with family or friends, or to a Public Shelter during an Emergency Evacuation. If you are unable to register yourself, someone may register you, on your behalf.

How Can I Register?

Method Two: At the Website address: www.suffolkcountyny.gov Please scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the Emergency Preparedness icon.

Method Three: By Regular Mail, by printing and completing the form which can be found at: www.suffolkcountyny.gov Please scroll to the bottom of the page, click on the Emergency Preparedness icon. Scroll down to the Paper Registration Form and clicking on the link. After printing and completing, please mail to:

Method Four: If you are unable to register through any of the above mechanisms, you may register by calling the Office of Emergency Management at 631-852-4900 during regular business hours - 8 AM - 4 PM, Monday through Friday.
