Park Details

McAllister County Park was the site of a previous sand and gravel mining operation that was deeded to the County of Suffolk in 1971 by James P. McAllister. This 113-acre seafront park includes Pirates Cove, a popular spot for boaters who anchor near the shoreline during the summer months.

The park has very limited Parking, be sure to park in the marked parking area, or you will be ticketed. Hikers and walkers will delight in the 3.2-mile loop trail. It’s generally considered an easy route, taking approximately 1 hour to complete.

Bicycles are not allowed in McAllister County Park. This is a sensitive ecological area that is vital to the endangered bird population. Violators can be fined up to $250.
