  4. Referrals may be made directly to Suffolk County APS by calling (631) 854-3232

  5.  What happens when I call APS?

  6. You will speak with an intake worker who will review your concerns to determine if an APS investigation is warranted. If the referral is accepted for investigation, the case will be routed to a Caseworker who will commence an assessment of the circumstances and need for services. APS has sixty days to complete an assessment. After the assessment, if the individual is found to be in need of services, a case may be opened.
