AQUACULTURE LEASE PROGRAM IN PECONIC BAYAND GARDINERS BAY
INFORMATIONAL MEETING NOTICE – 2025 Lease Application Cycle

Notice is hereby given that the Suffolk County Department of Economic Development and Planning will conduct an Informational Meeting for prospective lease applicants who are interested in participating in the upcoming Aquaculture Lease Program in Peconic Bay and Gardiners Bay: 2025 Lease Application Cycle. This Application Cycle will also be open to private oyster grant owners who wish to cultivate species other than oysters on their grant parcels; Leaseholders that wish to relocate to a new lease site location or are interesting in applying for a second lease site location.

The meeting will be held virtually on Wednesday December 11th, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. via Microsoft Teams. Please use the link below to register your attendance for the Informational Meeting:

Public Notice & Request for Written Comments on Applications for Shellfish Aquaculture Lease Renewal and Lease Assignment

Issue Date: October 16th, 2024 | Expiration Date: December 16th 2024

Pursuant to Local Law 09-2021 A Local Law to Amend Update and Reorganize Chapter 475 Article II of the Suffolk County Code, notice is hereby given that the Suffolk County Department of Economic Development and Planning has received two (02) applications by existing leaseholder’s requesting to renew their lease agreement for an additional ten (10) years. Additionally, one (01) application has been received requesting the assignment of a lease from one entity (Assignor) to another entity (Assignee). No new lease locations are proposed for leasing as part of this public notice.

Comments regarding the applications must be mailed to the Suffolk County Department of Economic Development and Planning at the address below:
