MEETING NOTICE & REQUEST FOR WRITTEN COMMENTS ON PROPOSED REVISED SHELLFISH CULTIVATION ZONE AND AQUACULTURE LEASE SITES MAPS

Notice is hereby given that the Suffolk County Department of Economic Development and Planning shall conduct an in-person meeting on Tuesday August 5, 2025, at the Riverhead Public Library - Grand Room (Lower Level). Program staff will be available to answer questions and receive additional comments during an afternoon session from 2:00pm – 4:00pm and an evening session 5:00pm – 7:00pm.

For those unable to attend the public meeting, the Department of Economic Development and Planning shall also accept written comments on the Shellfish Cultivation Zone and Aquaculture Lease Sites Map from August 5, 2025 to September 19, 2025.

 

All comments regarding the Shellfish Cultivation Zone Map and Aquaculture Lease Sites Map must be prepared in writing and mailed or emailed to the contact person listed below by September 19, 2025. Such comments should be targeted to a specific lease site(s) by referencing the applicable Lease Site Map ID #(s). The comments should include supporting documentation and data to the maximum extent possible. Proposed revisions made to the Shellfish Cultivation Zone and Aquaculture Lease Sites Map must be adopted by the Suffolk County Legislature.

Lease Assignment

Public Notice & Request for Written Comments on Applications for Lease Assignment

Issue Date: July 2, 2025 Expiration Date: September 1, 2025

Notice is hereby given, pursuant to Chapter 475, Article II of the Suffolk County Code, the Suffolk County Department of Economic Development and Planning has received two applications requesting the assignment (transfer) of a lease from one entity (Assignor) to another entity (Assignee). All applications are for locations which have been operational; no new lease locations are proposed for leasing as part of this public notice.

Comments regarding the applications for Lease Assignment must be submitted to the contact person below by close of business on September 1, 2025. Such comments should include supporting documentation and data to the maximum extent possible.
