Suffolk County Planning Federation

The Suffolk County Planning Federation was formed to provide training opportunities for municipal planning and zoning officials. Since its formation, the Federation has held numerous educational forums and has provided training to hundreds of local officials and citizens. The premise of the Federation is that through training, better, more effective planning can result.

The Federation provides training opportunities to the 42 towns and villages of Suffolk County and also serves as a forum for the exchange of ideas and experiences among those officials. This has been realized by the tremendous growth of the Federation and its emergence as the preeminent training program in the county.

Funding for the Federation is provided by the Suffolk County Legislature. Training is offered once a year in the Fall at an annual Planning Conference.

The following Resource Manuals were distributed at recent training seminars. These manuals contain the training literature that was distributed for each of the courses provided at that seminar.
