Military Discharge Papers (DD-214)

Veterans are reminded to file their original Separation papers (DD214) and / or Discharge papers with the Suffolk County Clerk's Office.

How to Record a Deed

You may obtain a deed form from your attorney, through the internet or from a stationery store that sells legal forms. A deed is a legal form and is not supplied by our office.

Historic Document Library

The Office of the County Clerk holds land records dating from the mid-1600's. These do not always contain descriptions of the house or other buildings found on the land. Even so, a deed is a good place to begin researching the history of your house.

Apostille

NYS issues an Apostille (the legalization of a document for international use), the Suffolk County Clerk will certify copies for an Apostille.
